Who can forget the moving tribute from Dorothy Kalins for the Exceptional Woman in Publishing award honoree,
Michela O’Connor Abrams. Michela in turn, honored the women who came before her: her mother, grandmothers,
and great grandmothers who contributed to the grace, energy, and excellence Michela has demonstrated
throughout her career in publishing. We are not likely to forget that she described EWIP as the “every woman
is perfect” organization.

The conference chair and host for our 4th Women’s Leadership Conference is Kate Byrne, a leader in the media realm for over 20 years. As Director of Communications, Kate serves as the voice for Tides, positioning, evangelizing and building the Tides audience and brand. Formerly Kate was vice president of the technology group at Future US, she oversaw the print, and digital outlets associated with Maximum PC, Mac|Life, Windows, launched a new brand, Maximum Tech, and ushered the global company into the mobile world, by building an award winning app. In 2011, Kate was awarded one of the media industry’s top honors by being named to the Folio:40 and recognized as one of the most influential and top performers.

She is now a brand strategist, executive coach, and international bestselling author. She will share many of the insights from her book, You Unstuck, Mastering the New Rules of Risk-taking in Work and Life. Her enthusiasm for her work, getting individuals and organizations to move beyond fear and self-perceived limitation, will help you understand how shedding the fears around risk-taking can move you and your organization courageously toward a more successful outcome. Libby will sign copies of her book immediately following the closing remarks.
